LAURA IVERSEN, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Laura came to STAIR-Annapolis after more than 15 years in the education industry. Her experience in community relations, fundraising, marketing, and business management serve her well as she continues to guide the growth of STAIR in partnership with Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Laura is a true lover of books, and helping children develop the skills they need to fall in love with reading is at the core of her work with STAIR-Annapolis. A native Annapolitan, Laura is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park and Severn School. She lives in Annapolis with her husband, daughter, and two Labrador Retrievers, and enjoys reading, writing, theater, and the arts.

ERIN DUPONT, COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Erin arrived at STAIR-Annapolis after more than a decade as a freelance writer and graphic designer. With additional experience in social media account management and internet marketing, her role is to tell the STAIR story throughout Anne Arundel County and beyond. Erin gives credit for her love of reading to her third-grade teacher, Mrs. Nicastro, and hopes every STAIR-Annapolis student discovers the stories and characters that move them, too. Born and raised in New England, Erin now calls Annapolis home, where she lives with her husband and their four children. She enjoys reading, yoga, and restoring thrift store furniture.

MALENA RULAND, VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Malena first joined STAIR-Annapolis as a twice-weekly tutor at our Mills-Parole location, and she brings this valuable experience to her work as Volunteer Coordinator. Malena is responsible for managing a roster of more than 200 volunteers, arranging tutor workshops, recruiting and training new volunteers, and serving as a critical support for site coordinators and tutors. Malena grew up in a bilingual Spanish-speaking household surrounded by books and understands how important it is for children to become stronger, more confident readers. She lives in Crownsville with her husband and enjoys reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her three children.
